Planning Your Destination Reunion

Most of us have heard about the destination wedding. We have even been to a couple of wedding destinations ourselves. Most times, they are performed at island resorts, European castles, or on the Mediterranean seaside. Some destination weddings are even held in the continental U.S., such as Charleston, SC.

But what about the destination reunion? For some of you, many years have passed since you’ve shared time with your childhood friends, your fraternity brothers, or military comrades. Your friends are now spread across the world, and you think it’s time to get together and catch up. Many families and best friends are planning elaborate get-togethers after this last year apart.

So, how do you get started?

First, get your sorority sisters, family, former colleagues, classmates, or anyone you’re looking forward to spending quality time with onboard.

Offer your idea of a destination reunion by letting them know that occupying an entire cruise ship will be much more adventurous, fun, and inclusive (there is, after all, something to do for everyone).

Take the time to decide on a few details like destination, time, and structure. Some cruises vary in length, from shorter 3 and 4-night sailings to weeklong getaways. First, poll your group for ideas of what sailing dates and types of cruises would work best for the majority of your group. Next, consider the best types of destinations that might best suit your group. Ideally, you can find an option with a little bit of everything.

Cruises are usually all-inclusive vacations. One price includes all accommodations, all meals, entertainment, and activities while onboard the ship.
