Richmond, VA – Labor Day Weekend not only signifies the unofficial end of summer but also continues a tradition for music lovers in RVA. The Art of Noise returns to Brown’s Island on Sunday, September 3rd, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
To commemorate 50 years of hip hop and over a decade since the inception of the Richmond-based event, Art of Noise invites music lovers of all ages, races, and genders who have a true appreciation for music and the “ART” of DJaying to enjoy an evening of musical nostalgia and delicious eats from local food vendors in partnership with the Richmond Black Restaurant Experience.
“Art of Noise was meant to be a party for my peers that [at the time] had limited options to hear music that we grew up on,” reflected DJ Lonnie B, creator and DJ of the Art of Noise. “For the past 11 years, Art of Noise has gone from 80 people in the crowd to over 5,000 and has traveled nationally and internationally. I am honored to be able to create this space in my city.”
The Art of Noise is comprised of two DJs [DJ Marc and DJ Lonnie B] and MCs, Mad Skillz and Kelli Lemon, and features surprise musical performances by guest DJs and/or artists. Past performers include Rick Ross, Slick Rick, Dougie E. Fresh, Bun B, Method Man, and Red Man, among others.
Tickets range from $40 to $50 and are available at www.thebroadberry.com. Limited VIP Packages that include premium seating and parking passes can be purchased by contacting the Art of Noise staff at theartofnoiserva@gmail.com.
