It’s that time of year that we think of giving gifts, and finding that perfect present or stocking-stuffer. So the Virginia Lottery and the Virginia Council on Problem Gambling (VACPG) are reminding everyone to gift responsibly. While lottery tickets can be great gifts for adults, it is never appropriate to give lottery tickets to anyone younger than 18. In fact, in Virginia, it’s against state law to give a lottery ticket to a minor.
To help get the message across to Virginians, the Lottery has produced a public service announcement; “Bad Gift Ideas” and is distributing it to media outlets statewide to air December.
So remember: Lottery tickets are for adults, not anyone younger than 18.
