KSU joins Grow with Google’s HBCU Career Readiness Program to train 100,000 Black college students in digital skills by 2025

Kentucky State University, Frankfort, KY, is participating in the Grow with Google HBCU Career Readiness Program, which helps Black college students at over 30 Historically Black Colleges and Universities prepare for the workforce through digital skills training and career workshops.
According to an article, the Thurgood Marshall College Fund has an investment in the program and “a track record of successfully connecting HBCU students with scholarships, training and jobs as they navigate college and careers.”
“Every student should have the opportunity to learn digital skills for today’s in-demand jobs,” said Tia McLaurin, Community Engagement Manager, Google. “We’re proud to work with the Thurgood Marshall College Fund to bring the Grow with Google HBCU Career Readiness Program to Kentucky State University to help more students prepare for the workforce and thrive as they start their careers.”

Partnership between UAB and Oakwood University to prepare students to enter dentistry field

The University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry, Birmingham, AL, will be teaming up with Oakwood University, Huntsville, AL, with the goal of recruiting students interested in dentistry to go to UAB’s dental program with the help of Early-Assurance Program.

Morgan State University chosen for Amazon’s Career Choice Program

Amazon, a multinational technology company, has partnered with Morgan State University, Baltimore, MD, as a new ‘Education Partner’ for the company’s Career Choice program.
As stated in a release, the program is “offered in collaboration with the University’s College of Interdisciplinary and Continuing Studies (CICS)” and allows “Amazon hourly employees located throughout Maryland and neighboring states to select Morgan as a destination to pursue a degree or learn new skills, with pre-paid tuition covered by Amazon.”
“We’re committed to empowering our employees by providing them access to the education and training they need to grow their careers, whether that’s with us or elsewhere. We have intentionally created a partner network of third-party educators and employers committed to providing excellent education, job placement resources, and continuous improvements to the experience. Clark Atlanta’s HBCU Executive Leadership Institute now accepting applications for program

Clark Atlanta University’s, Atlanta, GA, Executive Leadership Institute has announced that it’s accepting applications for the 2023 Community of Fellows for the HBCU Executive Leadership Institute (ELI) at CAU.
According to an article, the HBCU ELI, launched in 2021, is a 12-month leadership development program at CAU where candidates will build networks and develop management & leadership skills through “interactive learning sessions with ELI faculty and discussion with education practitioners.”
“HBCUs are critical to our macroeconomy as cognitive diversity is key to global innovation,” said Dr. George T. J.P. Morgan Asset Management Commits $1M through Empowering Change program to support underserved youth and single mothers

According to an article, J.P. Morgan Asset Management, a global leader in investment management, has committed $1 million to support underserved students and single mothers through commitments made by the Empower and Community Development Fund, “a Donor-Advised Fund that is committed to supporting community development” established by J.P. Morgan Investment Management Inc., to the United Negro College Fund, Youth Guidance, Kingsborough Community College in Brooklyn, NY and Lee College in Houston, TX.
“We launched Empowering Change in 2021 to connect institutional investors and diverse financial institutions to drive systemic change within underserved communities, and we’re incredibly proud to be committing $1 million as the program’s first annual donation to further this mission in collaboration with these long-standing partner organizations,” said Paula Stibbe, head of Global Liquidity, Client at J.P. Morgan Asset Management.
