Many of our clients have surprised their loved ones with fun-filled anniversaries and birthday vacations. We have helped make all the arrangements so all they have to do is show up and have a great time.
How would you present a gift of travel to an individual? One resourceful way to reveal your surprise trip is to gift a travel essential (such as an overnight bag) that would also double up as a hint towards your dream destination. You could slip a calendar inside with the dates of the trip crossed out to indicate that those days are “booked for a vacation.”
Or, you could write a note that can say that you and your loved one will take a trip together and plans are already made for when and where.
After you’ve made the arrangements, here are a few tips on ways to keep it a surprise until you are ready to reveal.
- Keep the location a surprise. Your loved one will know that you are going on a trip, but don’t let her find out until you arrive at the airport where you are going. You can tell her in advance how to pack (for a cold climate or a hot climate).
- Send her on a scavenger hunt. Take a picture of the vacation destination. Cut up the picture and put the pieces in an envelope or scatter them in a designated area. She would have to assemble the pieces to find the location.
- Arrange in advance a surprise dinner and present your travel documents at that time.
