President Barack Obama had been relatively quiet over the past 20 months since leaving the White House, until last week when the first of his scheduled campaign speeches in support of congressional candidates lashed out at the Republican Party and Donald Trump by name.
Many have felt that the former president had been too quiet on the sidelines and as one of today’s most popular political figures, he could generate the type of enthusiasm to increase turnout in November, while others question whether his presence could actually backfire and energize the Republican base instead.
What’s Your Take? Will President Obama’s presence on the campaign stump advance or hinder Democrats in the 2018 midterm elections?
